Minister attack conservation charities. Minister Attacks Conservation Charities: In an interview with the Sunday telegraph Bob Neil accused the National Trust and the campaign to protect Rural England of making misleading claims. Interview: Sean Spears, CEO, CPRE: “There is real concern about the Government’s proposals.”

Minister ‘is risking a rural rebellion over threat to green belt. Britain’s leading heritage and environmental charities were involved in an escalating row with the Government over the green belt last night after a minister accused them of peddling left-wing lies. The National Trust and the Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE) both vowed to continue defending communities from the Government’s planning shake-up.

Pressure groups reject minister’s ‘leftwing’ claims. The National Trust and the Campaign to Protect Rural England have rejected a minister’s claim that they have been orchestrating a left wing ‘smear campaign’ against government plans to simplify planning laws.

‘Left-wingers’ fuel opposition to planning reforms. Organisations such as the National Trust and the Council for the Protection of Rural England have spoken out against the planned changes designed to streamline the rules surrounding new developments.

We’re not Lefties, rural charities tell top Tory. The National Trust and the Campaign to Protect Rural England have joined forces against new rules which say that council should approve all building projects unless there is a strong reason to refuse them.
